B.A., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2003); J.D., cum laude, University of Baltimore (2006).  In 2006 Ms. Smith’s comment Vice-a-Verdict: Legally Inconsistent Jury Verdicts Should Not Stand in Maryland was published by the University of Baltimore Law Review.  The comment was later cited by the Maryland Court of Appeals in its seminal decision in Price v. State, 405 Md. 10 (2008), which reversed many years of precedent and held that legally inconsistent jury verdicts in criminal cases were no longer permissible.  Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Ms. Smith worked for a private insurance defense firm for four years.  Currently, she concentrates her practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claims, general liability cases, and insurance coverage disputes.  Ms. Smith is a member of the Maryland Bar Association (2007) and has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Compensation Insurance Attorneys since 2014.  Ms. Smith is admitted to the bar of Maryland (2007) and the District of Columbia (2012).  Email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
